What God has done with a young girl’s prayers…
Many years ago I found myself outside of a patient’s home. I had just completed providing his care. I was supposed to be there for 2 hours, but 4 hours later I found myself outside of his home hysterically crying. I was so embarrassed... I was so upset, so moved by his situation, that I was crying so hard I could not see to backup out of his driveway. It was over an hour before I could get myself together enough to see to backup.

It was outside this little man’s home, tears rolling down my face that I prayed, and the Lord heard me, and He has answered. I was so moved with compassion, so affected by what this man was going through that I said, “Lord, you’ve given me a heart that hurts when people hurt, and a heart that cries when people cry. I can’t do this, go in and out of patient’s home day after day, but Lord, if you will put me behind a desk and let me be a blessing in the lives of others I will never doubt that I’m not doing exactly what you’ve called me do.”

Here we are, nearly 30 years later. God has done so much with that young girl’s prayer. I pray I still please him with the work I am so beyond blessed to get to do. I never want to be hardened or numbed to the circumstances I see people endure. I pray my compassion and love for others never grows dull. I pray the light of the Lord is shown over and over with the work WE do at Angelic Health Care, Inc.
